At this time of unfathomable pain, my God, I have no word to say before you. We bowed down our heads for prayer but we are still in confusion. We all are in deep shock due to what happened to Peggy and her family. Surely you did not cause this to happen, but at least you allowed it to occur. We don't understand why you did this. We don't understand why you let the joyous moment of the new birth be turned to the horrible time of pain and despair. We have believed that you are in control, but we are confused about that in the midst of deep pain and sorrow. We'd like to say as Jesus said at the cross, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

오 나의 하나님, 이처럼 헤아릴 수 없는 깊은 고통의 시간에 저는 할 말을 찾을 수가 없습니다. 기도 드리기 위해 머리를 숙였지만, 저희는 여전히 혼란스럽습니다. 페기와 그 가족에게 일어난 일로 저희는 큰 충격에 휩싸여 있습니다. 하나님께서 이렇게 하신 것은 아니지만, 일이 이렇게 되도록 허락하신 것은 사실입니다. 왜 그러셨는지 이해할 수가 없습니다. 새 생명이 태어나는 기쁨의 시간이 첨혹한 고통과 절망의 시간으로 변하기까지 그냥 두신 처사를 이해할 수가 없습니다. 하나님께서 모든 것을 다스리신다고 믿어 왔는데, 이 깊은 고통과 슬픔의 사건 앞에서 저희는 혼란스럽습니다. 예수께서 십자가 위에서 "나의 하나님, 나의 하나님, 왜 나를 버리셨나이까?"라고 외치고 싶은 심정입니다.

Yes, we are confused. Yes, we are dumbfounded. However, we find no other one to turn to and we have no other name to call upon. Even though we don't understand you now and what you did, you are the only God for us. So we beseech you to help us hold onto you until we come to terms with this tragedy and take it to our hearts. You raised our Lord from the dead three days after he cried out to you, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" We now cry out to you "Why? Why?", but we believe that you will raise us from this pit of despair after three days.

그렇습니다. 저희는 혼란스럽습니다. 저희는 할 말을 잃었습니다. 하지만 우리가 의지할 분은 하나님 밖에 없고, 우리가 부를 이름은 주님의 이름 밖에 없습니다. 지금으로서는 하나님을 이해할 수 없지만, 주님이 우리의 유일한 하나님이십니다. 그래서 구합니다. 저희로 하여금 주님을 붙들게 하셔서 이 비극을 받아들일 힘을 얻게 하여 주옵소서. 하나님께서는 "나의 하나님, 나의 하나님, 어찌하여 나를 버리셨습니까?"라고 부르짖으신 주님을 사흘 뒤에 살려 내셨습니다. 그것처럼 하나님께서는 저희를 사흘 후에 이 잘망의 구덩이로부터 꺼내 주실 줄 믿습니다.

We believe that Peggy is in your place for eternal bliss. We are glad to say this. We pray for the broken hearts of her loved ones. We know that no words can comfort their troubled souls. Our only hope is in you. Pour out your Spirit upon their hearts so that they may find enough strength and power to go through this dark valley of death. Send you grace to all of us who are present at this place so that each and every one of us may be fully awake to you. Help us to be always ready for our time of departure which we will never know. I pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ.

페기가 지금 주님의 춤에 있어 영원한 복락을 누릴 줄 믿습니다. 그것으로 인해 감사합니다. 이제 페기의 사랑하는 사람들의 깨어진 마음들을 위해 기도합니다. 어머니, 아버지, 남편, 언니, 동생, 드 아들 리마와 올리버. 인간의 말로는 그들의 영혼에 아무런 위로가 되지 않는다는 것을 압니다. 우리의 희망은 오직 하나님께 있습니다. 주님의 성령을 그들의 마음에 부어 주옵소서. 그리하면 그들이 이 사망의 음침한 골짜기를 통과할 힘과 능력을 얻을 것입니다. 주님의 은혜를 이 자리에 있는 모든 이들에게 부어 주옵소서. 그리하면 우리 각자가 주님께 깨어 살 것입니다. 저희로 하여금 우리가 결코 알 수 없는 우리의 마지막에 늘 깨어 살게 하옵소서. 이 모든 말씀을 주 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
